Natalia Ruiz. Graduate in History of Art, UCM, specialist in Cinema History, UVA, she completed her doctorate at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Madrid. Her thesis focused on a study of Jean-Luc Godard’s Histoire(s) du cinéma. She has given seminars and classes at the Faculty of Fine Arts and at UNED. In 2008 and 2009, she received a post-doctorate grant from the Ministry of Education for a project titled Cinema and Museum in Paris, where her tutor was the lecturer Jean-Louis Leutrat.
She is a regular collaborator with Cahiers du cinéma-España and she has also done specialised translations for the DVD publisher Intermedio and Fundación Juan March.
Her publications include the book En busca del cine perdido (ed. Universidad del País Vasco, 2009), which is a study of the Histoire(s) du cinéma, on which she has also published other texts, such as the chapter titled Montaje y construcción de la memoria: Histoire(s) du Cinéma de Jean-Luc Godard (in Sagrario Aznar (ed.), La Memoria Pública, Madrid, UNED, 2003), the article Historia(s) del cine (in Boletín Hispánico Helvético No. 7, Geneva, 2006) and the extensive guide Todas las historias (published as an extra for the DVD edition of Histoire(s), 2006).
She has also published various critical texts in Cahiers du cinéma-España and has contributed to every number of the informative bulletin SEPHE with texts on cinema and childhood.
