Two different techniques converge in the production of this image, where Jelena Sredanovic has used woodblock printing to apply a series of almost translucent layers of ink. These layers produce a very subtle overlapping effect that adds nuance and depth to the resulting image. A sharp tension (both formal and procedural) is established between the precise definition of the digital impression that is at the base and the blurred warmth of the xylographic layers, in which the grain of the wood can even be perceived. In this way, the theme loses importance and it is the structural qualities of the piece that appear in the foreground.
